17th Annual Community Greening Celebration

By October 12, 2012 No Comments

It’s that time of year again – time for the annual Parks & People greening bash. Things have been known to get a little out of hand, with community gardeners throwing down in the parking lot of the Cylburn Arboretum and urban farmers doing keg-stands with reckless disregard for the safety of their hairstyles. Nevertheless, this is a must-go event for all, especially since sources tell us that our dear friend and beard-lover, Mike Dorsey, will be receiving an award for Exceptional Volunteerism…

and that mischievous Mogwai, Galadriel Rosen, will be on the podium as well, winner of … hmm … well, probably the general awesomeness category. That or seed-bomb preparation…

Deets:

Join the Parks & People Foundation for its 17th Annual Community Greening Celebration and Baltimore Ecosystem Study Open House. It is destined to be another special evening as we recognize all of the wonderful community gardeners in Baltimore for their dedication to beautifying our city!

A festive evening filled with:

  • Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres
  • Awards reception honoring Baltimore’s community gardeners
  • Special guest stilt walkers generously provided by NANA Projects
  • Silent auction and more!

Where: Vollmer Center at Cylburn Aboretum, Baltimore, MD 21209

When: Wednesday, October 24, 2012, 6 – 9p.m.

This event is free and open to the public. Please RSVP to alexandra.kraus@parksandpeople.org or to (410) 448-5663 ext. 119 by October 17th.
